Update

I cannot give any details.

I just can't.

My mind is overloaded with the yakyakyak of medi-speak. Dude, I call eating or drinking food P.O.ing, and the state of not-having-a-fever: afebrile. We got's to get outta here.

She HAS been afebrile for almost 24 hours now (please don't make a liar out of me kid!) and the edema (swelling) of yesterday is much better. She can use her fingers again.

Today I was hit with the overwhelming impression of comfort. The hallways here are thick with angels, and Heavenly Father is well aware of each little child. He knows my Pearl better than I know her. He loves her even more than I do.

....ever-thin' gon' be alright.

Isn't that an awesome thought? That He loves our children even more than we do. That is hard to remember sometimes.

Wow.
That hit home this morning. I don't know why... but right now it must be what I needed to hear. (Not even kid related... just a general thought.)

oh your poor little one!!

from past experience, and from what she looks like - PLEASE have her tested for stephen-johnson's syndrome!!

i had a foster son who got this - it was a reaction to a virus, but it often occurs due to a medication reaction.

and often its mistaken for something else, even though she's appearing to get better

I am so happy to hear your sweetie is improving. Praying the good news will continue.

How do you get tested for stephen-johnson syndrome? What is it? Love, Bon's mom

Afebrile...I had to look that up. I'm glad afebrile is a good thing.

yeah... they tested. She has had no sores in her mouth or mucouse membranes in general, but they tested anyway because they are fully CREEPED OUT by this thing.

No stone unturned, no nada. Is simple drug reaction... to one of three drugs that she will never, ever have again (gentmyacin, diflucan, zosin or any other penicillin).

It's good to know that there are special angels watching out for Pearl, and I love what you said about God loving her more than you - it's true, and we as parents tend to forget...

Hugs, Smiles & Prayers...

and I'm so glad you know that too.

I've got all my angels here on high alert, full of prayers and sending all their love.

I hope that horrible rash is fading.

And double love to Pearl's mama for all you've been through. Yikes.

good to hear about the negetive result of SJD - it is absolutely horrible. but that is such a crazy reaction to drugs! poor baby!

Julie said...

ooops sorry... forgot to mention, sjd is usually tested for by a biopsy (small piece of skin) removed from an affected area
