Flu, Leperosy... Whatever

The entire House of Chaos threw in the towel yesterday. I was sporting a huge hacking cough (shocker, I know) and a 101 temp. Pearl had taken a turn for the worse, and both the older girls sounded funny and looked peaked. Turns out everyone is glad we did... the fevers spread and LaLa started yarking. Dadguy took a day off of church duties to play nursemaid to us all.

Last night I brought out the two new pony coloring books that were supposed to have been a church "quiet treat." Birdie and I were coloring and swapping crayons. She handed me the violet crayon and I said "Thank You."

"If you don't say Thank You, do you get leopard skin?" Birdie asked.

Not missing a beat I asked, "are you talking about Jesus and the ten Lepers?"

She was. It's official, I'm a Mom.

You are SO MUCH a mom now! I Love those moments. I'm sad to hear you're all sick again, this is way, way more than your share.

Yep. Surely you knew that before, though. Makes me think of the time that we came home from church and 4 year old Rob asked, "Mom, whats a bumble bird?" a bumble bird???? "Yeah, you know, Jesus was a bumble bird". I wasn't as quick as you, but in a few seconds i remembered that we had just sung the hymn,"Jesus, once of humble birth" so OF COURSE.
I am so sorry that you guys are sick again. that is the pits. around albuquerque they now have "adult rsv" very bad news. Do you think that might have to do with some of this for you??? We love you. you are always in our prayers, Love, Mom

I would've sat there with a puzzled look on my face, trying to not picture any sort of leopard skin on anyone I know.

I think you guys have been sick long enough, now. Tell it to go away. Far, far away.

I love that she knew about leopard skin. Awesome!! I must say that I have to admit before I read the part where you asked about the lepers, I knew exactly what she was referring to, also.
