Sunday Pic: Springtime Chaos

For the record.... you know those pictures you have of yourself as a child, and you have to ask "the HECK was my mom thinking, dressing me in that getup?" She'll tell you something like "the fashion back then" or "you picked it out."

Truth of it is? She thought it was funny. Maybe it didn't make her laugh out loud, but it made her grin, or snicker even if only on the inside. These headbands with their interchangeable gee-gaws, ribbons and flowers however, they make me laugh till I snort. The girls love them, but I suspect I will not be forgiven in twelve to fourteen years and I DON'T CARE!

The dresses are courtesy of Grandma P.

I can guarantee that you will not be voted mother of the year in 12-14 years if they see those pictures.

They ARE funny!

But you sure have some beautiful girls there. You and Dadguy did a good job on 'em.

Woooo! Those are some amazing headbands. And you're so right on the funny. Mine picks out her own clothes a lot. I COULD put my foot down — I mean, she's not even too, I think I could wrestle her into whatever I want her to wear. But why would I? Pink camouflage sneakers, plaid pants, flowered shirt and striped sweater is funny, yo!

Uh, that would be TWO, not too.

Dear God! Those are hilariously cute. Where did you get them? I need one for my lovely granddaughter.

Crazy headbands or not you're girls.... are so lovely I almost had to cry. I don't know what it is. The expressions on their faces? My heart just swelled. Especially the last photo. So grown up. So sweet.

These ones will have to be ones that you dig out when they really tick you off.

Gorgeous dresses Grandma P!

I still shudder when I think of that clown sweater my mother made me wear in kindergarten.

I HATED THAT SWEATER.

I STILL HATE THAT SWEATER.

I make my son wear a belt so he pants don't fall off his butt. He hates me for it.

You should keep the strategically hidden for 12 years, then bring them out to adorn the walls on prom night.

My boys dress themselves too. Cal favors anything green, along with his pink painted toenails. Zeebie goes nekkid as often as possible, wears a diaper when I force him, and if he has to be clothed, looooves footie pajamas, especially pink ones.

I'm gonna start making headbands like those and sell them on ebay.

Wait, isn't that our job? My dad has pictures of me he pulls out to this day. That's how it works.

Cute, by the way!!

Oh, sooo beautiful! They are sooo cute. And, yes, a few years from now, they will hate you for publishing these pictures. But then, a few more years later, they will love you for it. Just wait it out and roll with the punches.

Again: so incredibly cute!
