The rolls! Aghk! The rolls must be squished....
Birdie is starting to put some things together and reading is right around the corner. Gadzooks! She sounds out words with varying degrees of success, and she tried to write her friend Madaline's name the other day by sounding it out... she spelled it MATN. She did completely succeed in spelling C-A-T to accompany the picture of a very whiskery cat that she had drawn. This she did with no assist.
LaLa, her face has changed again. Every day it's easier to understand the complete sentences she speaks in. Her darling little lispy voice can be heard singing and chatting to herself... the kid, she rarely shuts up. Which is fine... except when she screams? She shatters glass.
"wing ah-wown ah woah-theeth
pock-ah foo ah poe-theeth
ash-esh, ash-esh we ahh fahh DOW!"
This is such an exciting and happy time, but at the same time I am a little in awe and slightly intimidated by the amazingness of these girls that have come from the mix of Dadguy and I. These beings trailing clouds of glory, Children of God... my sisters.

"Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting: The soul that rises with us, our life's star, Hath had elsewhere its setting, And cometh from afar. Not in entire forgetfulness, And not in utter nakedness, But trailing clouds of glory, do we come From God, who is our home: Heaven lies about us in our infancy."

That's an excellent post... But that poem will forever after be ruined for me. I was forced to memorize it when I was 13, and I'll forever after be a bit jaded when I hear it. =)
I love the rolls! So squishable! My son has rolls too and I just want to kiss each one of them.
Do you think Pearl would mind if I munched on her legs a little bit? (If she's afraid of the teeth, little kisses would probably suffice.) She just looks good enough to eat!
You have the most beautiful baby... my kids never had the rolls...
So, so cute. Mmmm! It's funny Peter and I have just recently decided that Baby A distinctly has his head. Up until know we weren't sure who she looked like. Other parts of her, like her eyes are from me but the head, definately her dad's.
I am LOVING those legs!
My Goodness, woman! Your kids are the beautifulest!
Your Pearl is a doll! I'm curious; how old are Birdie and LaLa? They certainly seem to be accomplishing much. It sounds so exciting!
Ahhhh! the way to the mama's heart is to compliment her rug rats... and those rolls? yes I agree that they MUST be nibbled, and Nancy? as you can see? there is plenty to go around so y'all just help yerself!
Diane... Birdie turned four just last month and shortly after was LaLa's two year old B-day. Some things they are a little ahead on, and some things? a wee bit behind... but you are not likely to catch me bragging about the slow poke-isms. Such is the habit of many a mama I suspect.
Mama D- you know that I am in love with that Baby A... she has that heartbreak smile.
Look at that BABY!! OMGosh, how cute. It's easy to stand in awe, isn't it?
Great post!
That IS a great post and I can't believe how big she is getting. I feel like I've grown up with her in some weird way. Don't you sort of feel like our kids are all friends somehow? Okay, maybe it's just me.
