Tomorrow

Well... ain't life a hoot? We had ourselves a big fake-out in the wee hours of Sunday morning; starting at a little after midnight I was getting some good and hard contractions that kept getting closer and closer together... and laying on my side actually made them stronger. By two in the morning the contractions were every three to five minutes so we went to the hospital, but on the twenty minute drive there they started to peter out.

Went in anyway and stayed till about five am at which point my "labor" was over and I was peeved and a little chagrined. A little pissy as well. But I learned that I am very afraid for the safety of this baby. Something feels off, and he cannot turn properly and I am done messing with all of this.

Tomorrow I go in around noon for a c-section, and we will have a baby. The end.

In my book, I am trading an easier recovery and a higher hospital bill for a guarantee (or close to it) of safety for this little guy.... and frankly, I have a sneaking suspicion that this would all end up on a table with a knife anyway. My options are not stellar.

...at least I get the more predictable outcome and the tubal ligation two-fer. I am trying to find the happy in all of this.

Now we just have to figure out a name for the squirt.

Honestly, a c-section isn't so bad. The first week is a little rough but after that, not so much. I hope all goes well for you and I look forward to seeing pics of the new guy!

Oh my goodness, I've missed quite a bit these past few days...

I something feels off to you, then it sounds like this is a good thing. Mam knows best. And, as a recipient of two c-sections, I can say that those that are planned are much easier to recover from and a more pleasant experience overall. I know you're ready to be done, and the end is in sight.

I'm so excited for you and your family. You'll have a baby tomorrow! I can't wait to see pictures and find out the name:)

Best wishes for an easy delivery and speedy recovery.

I think Bob would be a good name. I always liked Bob.

You'll do great with the c-section - and you are right - the safety of the little guy is the most important thing. Planned c-sections are much easier to recover from than the one after hours of labor.

As for names...I'm sure you will find the perfect one for him.

Hee hee! The main problem with the name "Bob" is that I call ALL my kids "Bob."

well, I have heard many say that recovery from c-sec is harder than recovery from natural birth. But, if you're doing tubal anyway, it makes a certain amount of sense.

plus the momma sixth sense thing is a card nobody can trump.

just don't minimize the recovery thing -k? If it hurts, it hurts -- you are basically putting your body through surgery, and that is not trivial. Neither is growing a baby. Take good care of you!

I'm so excited! We're going to meet a new person!! are you excited yet??

Tomorrow??? He arrives??? Oh my! and whoo hoo and congrats and oh my! Listen to that mommy voice, it is rarely wrong. Betcha anything they will find him wrapped very tightly in his cord, unable to get out on his own. Hugs and prayers!

the worst part of c-section is the first time you get up-after that it's not so bad. It is true that the more you get up....the faster you heal. I cannot wait to see him! I am so excited! Good Luck!
