Busy

A few days after I found out I was pregs, I realized that for now, I was as small as I was gonna get. So I grabbed the camera and had Dadguy take a few snaps of me. This is not dressed up, not a glamour shot, although some of you may be thinking to yourself "look at that artfully coiled garden hose... she TOTALLY airbrushed this sucker!"

No, this is just the mama after she drops 50 odd pounds. As much as a part of me wants to say something critical about how much farther I have to go, how old and dumpy I look; the stronger part of me is quite pleased with how I look here. More than how I "look" I know that that body of mine could run for five miles with no problem, could endure some serious strength training and sweat, and keep up with the girls in a good game of tag. Dude, I can hold "plank" and do real push-ups. Boy push-ups.

That's a strong mama. She is OK by me.

As far as "before" pictures of me? Hmmm... not so much. The only digitals I can find are older shots or head shots. I was hiding. And can you blame me? I didn't recognize me in the pictures that I saw. In truth... I felt like how I look in these pictures; overweight, but not ghastly. And I still feel the same way I did then... except for better friends with myself.

If you like, you can compare some head shots...

Lady, you look GREAT!

The weight loss is fantastic, but what really strikes me in these pictures even more than that is that you look like you feel at home in your body. As far as I'm concerned, that's an even greater achievement.

Also, I can do the plank, but I am so lousy at push-ups it is just sad. I am officially jealous.

Okay, sorry. Hope that didn't sound stalkerish. Must be all that hard work and the pregnancy, girl.

You are gorgeous! I always happened to think so but you can even tell in the pictures that you are better friends with yourself. And that makes me so happy.

And I am SO happy that we are growing babies together. That is awesome!

P.S. I am LOVING your hair!

Great job! Can I tell you that you look younger as well? Isn't it funny that weight loss translates into a younger face? It's weird.

I, too, am loving the new hair.

Welcome back, Bon! Elizasmom told me about your return and I am so excited about it. I admit that I checked your blog regularly during your absence in hopes you might have changed your mind. And now you did! Yeah! Congratulations with all those changes. I totally admire your dedication to exercise. Running, weight lifting, doing planks... awesome. You look great and sound great! And congratulations again with your pregnancy! May the suckitude be over soon.

I just found you, and want to say that the "head shots" are wicked awesome! And that I am TOTALLY photoshopping a garden hose into my next photo shoot... so chic! :>)

Congrats on the weight loss... I have major amounts to shed now from my pregnancy... gag. I hate diets! (whoops, we're supposed to call them 'life changes'!)

Good luck with the baby!

You look amazing! And being strong and fit is amazing too - I know that getting in shape has really helped me with the games of "mommy monster" that the kids like me to play with them! You inspire me.
